Bristol Bay Alaska

Most fishermen already know that it is here in Bristol Bay where every year you will find the largest sockeye salmon runs in the world. From time indefinite, these massive runs of highly prized salmon, rich in the Omega 3 acids our bodies need, have been feeding our families and yours with the exceptionally fine flavors of Alaska sockeye salmon. But these are not the only salmon returning to these waters every year, enormous runs of king salmon, silver salmon and chum salmon, fill these same rivers and streams every summer. It still doesn’t end with these 4 species of salmon, the area is one of Alaska’s most important trophy size trout fishing areas.

Industries that will be effected by this development include the commercial fishermen, canneries and the entire seafood industry, sport fishing, hunting and tourism. The number of highly renowned Alaska fishing and hunting lodges, wilderness retreats and remote camps treat hordes of visitors to the region every year. Nearby you can visit Katmai National Park located south of the proposed mine and Lake Clark National Park just to the north. Both parks are threatened from this mining operation.
